"With the assistance from SAB Foundation funding, we are able to invite more donors and organisations to enhance infrastructure and improve learning outcomes." — Maker Khalo, Founder of Chelo.

"This partnership transforms school development into a vehicle for economic justice, positioning women not as beneficiaries - but as drivers of value and growth." Galetlolwe Semenya C.E.O. Matriarch Professional Association

Today Marks the 7th Month since the BELA act was signed into law. While it makes education more inclusive, it has led to a bigger strain on the current resources allocated to schools in the country.

Along the road Chelo has come across challenges it had to overcome; from navigating regulatory requirements, to having limited resources and losing some traction . Nonetheless, today, we are positioned as a technology-driven platform for school development, with a growing number of onboarded schools having active fundraising campaigns supported by partnerships with corporates, donors and institutions

"It is heartening to see Chelo is stepping up to address the specific funding gaps in South African schools. As a former educator, I know that having the right resources truly transforms a learners daily experience. Chelo provides project-based support and serves as a bridge connecting schools with corporate partners. This collaboration facilitates targeted funding structures to address school needs and ensure proper implementation, monitoring, and transparency throughout the project." — P. Mabelane

"Chelo is a life saver for Schools and if SGB can participate in their projects we will see a very progressive education system in our country." - Mr S. Marokhu, Universal association of School governing bodies.

Another chapter in a much bigger story. Across the country, there are thousands of early child development centers and communities ready for transformation.

"It was the coming together of what I envisioned. As a moment not only did this serve the school and Bolt, But it was thumps up for Chelo-we arrived." Maker

A New Chapter for Education Begins South Africa’s education system carries immense potential but it also carries deep inequality and issues of resource scarcity. Schools across all districts and areas face overcrowded classrooms, dilapidated physical infrastructure, and limited access to digital resources. Despite the challenges that exist, educators and learners are doing their best with little to no resources Yet behind every school is a community that cares—and behind every learner is a dream waiting to be funded. This is where Chelo steps in.
