The success rate of startup businesses in South Africa is 30-50 % survival within the first 18 months, Business Insider. While the old adage of having better odds at winning a coin toss may be a convenient joke in respite from reality, the team at FURTHER Impact are putting a real dent on the gloomy statistic, charting real ways for entrepreneurs to build resilience and character in their businesses.

Founded by Lindsay Cilliers and Ian Calvert, FURTHER Impact specialises in supporting startup businesses to realise their full potential avoiding typical pitfalls companies run into which may jeopardize their future.
The company facilitates holistic programmes by coaching entrepreneurs and developing structure in their businesses for improved operational efficiency. They have partnered with prominent CSI related businesses in South Africa, including SABFoundation, LEGO foundation, Allan Gray Orbis Foundation and Business and Arts South Africa, being the backbone of said firms entrepreneurial development programmes for startup entrepreneurs.
FURTHER entrepreneurs, called Impact Entrepreneurs are engaged with regularly through seminars and direct individual mentorship sessions to learn from experienced entrepreneurs and make sure that startup organizations tangibly benefit from the FURTHER Impact programs.

For Chelo, our CEO Maker Khalo, who underwent the FURTHER Impact program in collaboration with SABfoundation, stated about FURTHER Impact: "It created a stable environment for me, but it also ensures that you create that stable environment for your own organisation, which then takes it further. They also talk to other organization's about you, help you get in touch with them. I have been part of FURTHER and I have loved being part of FURTHER ever since."

South Africa's diversity in the African context, makes it unique, with a strong national identity that has manifested perennially in the founding of organizations meant to solve myriads of challenges not only specific to it alone as a country but for the whole continent.
